One of the most overlooked and often dreaded tasks of the moving process is to swap over utilities. Remember to call ahead of time to get everything in order.  We all know it can take an internet and TV provider a week to come set something up.  So get something on the books early and if anything changes we can adjust.

You can also talk to the power and gas company and give them a heads up that ownership change will be take place on X date.  This all ensures no lapse in service.
